With your cost of food probably being your second highest overhead within your catering budget, it is vital that you regularly review your purchasing strategy or purchase prices. When was the last time that you formally benchmarked your food costs, or even more importantly the last time you formally tendered them?

ISCC provide an increasingly popular comprehensive food procurement service to clients that self-manage their catering services. We manage over £2.5M of annual food purchases on behalf of our self-managed clients.

Our Approach

The first is to competitively tender all or part of your food categories such as fruit and vegetables, dry and frozen good, ambient goods, butchery and dairy. We work with the suppliers that you wish to inviteto tender and provide a comprehensive turnkey solution which includes inspecting supplier’s premises and auditing their policies and procedures. Post tender we produce a shortlist of companies for each food category and allow you then choose your preferred suppliers. All suppliers will have agreed service level agreements.

Our second option is simply to recommend tried and tested companies for each food category that we have worked with elsewhere and who we know provide the very best quality products, a reliable service and all at the very best prices.

If you haven’t formally reviewed your food purchasing for a number of years then the savings that we generate can be quite substantial. We often achieve savings in the region of between 10% and 15% of your annual food purchases.

Our food procurement team is headed up by Founder and Managing Partner Chris Stanley working in close liaison with our Food Purchasing Manager Penny Scott and her team of analysists and administrators.

The highly experienced and knowledgeable design team at ISCC, headed up by Founder and Managing Partner, Chris Stanley provide a wide range of kitchen and dining room design options, ranging from simply procuring a single piece of heavy equipment, such as a combination oven or dishwasher, through to a full turnkey design, refurbishment and fit-out service, working with one of our tried and tested kitchen fit-out companies.
